January 10, 2008

By Rob Jones

Saturday afternoon, in an event that affect millions of people not even one little bit, one woman's life was forever changed. Chronicling the occurrence that shook one Tucson woman to her very core, was a blog entry, which left the nation almost entirely unchanged.

The blog entry, entitled, "The Day That Changed My Life," written by Meredith Henson of Tucson, Arizona, details in a mere 1500 words how a look in the eye of a homeless woman bequeathed upon her an entirely new world outlook.

Meridith, a data entry clerk for Bank One Corporation, has maintained her blog since the start of the new year, when she made a resolution to pursue her writing more. The blog has since had 13 hits.

Marie Simpson, Professor of New Media Journalism at the University of Florida had this to say, "the piece is a shining triumph in excessive prose."

"It was such a life changing event for me," said Henson, "I really felt I had to share it with the world. That day has become such an inspiration for me, and who am I to keep that to myself? If one person feels a tiny inkling of what I did at that moment, then my work is done."

Said one source when questioned about the massive affect of this article,"Yeah, I guess I really feel about the same as I did yesterday."

Well, the world may remain pretty much the same, but for Meridith Henson, today is the first day of the rest of her life.
